Job summary

Jain Global LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Execution Support Engineer to join the Execution Support team in New York. This desk-based role provides direct support to Portfolio Managers and Traders across trading platforms, requiring strong technical hands-on capabilities and clear communication to drive issue resolution.

The ideal candidate understands the trade lifecycle, FIX, and production troubleshooting, with experience in Python tooling and onboarding of new brokers and platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years supporting front-office trading systems in a hedge fund or similar env.
• Experience with FlexTrade or similar OMS/EMS platforms.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle: orders, executions, allocations, positions, P&L.
• Proficiency with FIX protocol and electronic trading workflows.
• Hands-on SQL and Linux for production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python and API integrations.
• Experience across multiple asset classes: equities, options, futures, FX, fixed income.
• Experience with production monitoring, incident management, and application support.
• Excellent communication with PMs, Traders, Tech teams and vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree and licenses are a plus (SIE, Series 7/57/63).

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line production support for PMs and Execution Traders across OMS, EMS, FIX, APIs.
• Investigate and resolve production issues involving orders, executions, and market data.
• Monitor reliability and performance of production trading systems and respond to alerts.
• Collaborate with internal Tech teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and enhance systems.
• Coordinate UAT, production releases, upgrades, and deployment of new functionality.
• Use SQL, Linux, logs, and FIX messages to diagnose issues.
• Develop Python-based tools to automate trading and support workflows.
• Onboard new brokers, trading platforms, APIs, and investment teams.
• Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement fixes.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks to improve the support model.

Job Description

Senior Execution Support Engineer

This is a trading desk-based role providing direct support to Portfolio Managers and Traders across the firm's trading platforms. The role sits at the intersection of the investment teams, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and external trading vendors.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of trading and the trade lifecycle, combined with hands-on technical experience supporting production trading systems. This role requires someone who can quickly assess the business impact of an issue, communicate effectively with Traders and PMs, troubleshoot the underlying technology, and drive issues through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line production support for Portfolio Managers and Execution Traders across OMS, EMS, FIX, APIs, and related trading systems.
• Investigate and resolve production issues involving orders, executions, allocations, positions, market data, connectivity, and downstream trading workflows.
• Monitor the reliability and performance of production trading systems and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Work closely with internal Technology teams and external vendors to troubleshoot issues and deliver system enhancements.
• Coordinate and support UAT, production releases, system upgrades, and deployment of new functionality.
• Use SQL, Linux, logs, and FIX messages to investigate and diagnose production issues.
• Develop and support Python-based tools and automation to improve trading and support workflows.
• Support new broker, trading platform, API, and investment team onboarding.
• Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes and process improvements.
• Maintain clear support documentation and runbooks, and contribute to improving the overall support model.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting front-office trading systems within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, or similar environment.
• Experience with FlexTrade or similar OMS/EMS platforms.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including order routing, executions, allocations, positions, and P&L.
• Strong understanding of FIX protocol and electronic trading workflows.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Linux for production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python and API integrations.
• Experience supporting multiple asset classes such as equities, options, futures, FX, fixed income, and derivatives.
• Experience with production monitoring, incident management, and application support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Technology teams, and external vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• SIE, Series 7, Series 57, and/or Series 63 licenses are a plus.

Compensation

Jain Global offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
