The role evaluates, selects, and prices E&S casualty risks within delegated underwriting authority, focusing on risk selection, pricing discipline, and portfolio profitability.

You will work across contracting/wrap-up, product liability, real estate, and institutional exposures, collaborating with brokers and carrier teams to place and document binding risks with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in excess casualty or surplus lines underwriting.
• Experience making binding underwriting decisions within a delegated authority framework.
• Strong technical knowledge of E&S casualty coverage structures, attachment points, and pricing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with underwriting platforms and rating tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex excess casualty risk submissions and determine binding decisions.
• Underwrite submissions outside standard market appetite within authority.
• Determine coverage structures, attachment points, limits, terms, and endorsements.
• Maintain profitable book through disciplined risk selection and rate adequacy.
• Collaborate with wholesale brokers and internal carrier teams.
