Job summary

The Newport Construction Excavator Operator will work outdoors on heavy civil projects, operating a large excavator in close proximity to equipment and the public to remove materials safely and efficiently on road and bridge projects across New Hampshire.

Requirements include 3–5 years of industry experience, a high school diploma or GED, ability to perform daily fluid checks and maintenance, and strong communication with supervisors and crew; safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years of industry-related experience required, with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew.

Responsibilities

• Operate a excavator in close proximity to equipment and the public safely.
• Perform daily fluid level checks and machine inspections.
• Carry out routine maintenance and notify supervisor of repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
