Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking an experienced Multifunction Services Senior Supervisor to lead Environmental Services operations. You will supervise 20+ EVS staff, manage payroll, ensure regulatory readiness, and drive projects that improve performance and service delivery.

You will mentor lower-level supervisors, coordinate staffing and schedules, and partner with Human Resources on employee relations while maintaining a safe, professional work environment across EVS operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of supervisory experience in Environmental Services, education, healthcare, hospitality, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and advanced operational oversight for a team of 20+ EVS employees, including performance, productivity, attendance, quality, safety, and customer service.
• Coordinate staffing, shift coverage, workflow, and room turnaround priorities to support timely service delivery.
• Command EVS board during peak periods by prioritizing service needs and escalating barriers as appropriate.
• Mentor Associate and Intermediate Supervisors in leadership practices, staff accountability, and escalation.
• Manage payroll and timekeeping processes; audit timesheets, attendance, overtime, and scheduling.
• Communicate priorities and department expectations to frontline staff and supervisory teams.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, corrective action, and employee relations with HR.
• Maintain confidential records related to payroll, attendance, performance, coaching, and inspections.
• Conduct rounds and inspections to assess cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze trends in quality, safety, and service; implement corrective actions and monitor results.
• Lead department projects and process improvements; track progress and coordinate stakeholders.
• Support special cleaning requests, emergency response, surge situations, and other duties as assigned.
