Job summary

TransUnion is seeking an Event Management and Experiences Manager to lead strategy, planning, and flawless execution of diverse customer-facing events. You will manage a portfolio of 6-8 high-visibility events annually and coach a small team across planning milestones, rehearsals, and live delivery.

The role requires 7+ years of B2B events experience, strong budgeting and stakeholder collaboration skills, and willingness to travel 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years experience planning and executing complex B2B events, including large-scale trade shows, proprietary customer events, executive programs, or customer advisory boards.
• People leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, developing, and managing event professionals and creating clear accountability across a team.
• Strong working knowledge of end-to-end event management, including strategy, budgeting, sourcing, contracting, production, attendee experience, risk management, on-site operations, and post-event measurement.
• Experience partnering with marketing, sales, product, procurement, finance, legal, and senior leaders in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Executive presence and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions, manage expectations, and tailor recommendations for different audiences.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing event budgets, negotiating with agencies and vendors, controlling scope, and identifying cost efficiencies.
• Ability to translate business objectives into event strategies, success measures, and actionable recommendations using attendee insights, performance data, and ROI indicators.
• Excellent judgment and composure under pressure, with a track record of resolving issues, managing escalations, and making sound decisions during live events.
• Ability to travel 25%

Responsibilities

• Lead and actively participate in in-person event execution, with consistent on-site presence for planning milestones, rehearsals, and live event delivery.
• Own and provide hands-on leadership for a portfolio of 6-8 high-visibility events annually, including on-site oversight to ensure seamless execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Coach and support a team of 2-4 event professionals through regular virtual and in-office collaboration, real-time guidance, and on-site leadership during key event phases.
• Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment to align on event strategy and execution.
• Navigate competing priorities and stakeholder needs, balancing strategic objectives with tactical delivery across multiple concurrent events.
• Conduct on-site venue walk-throughs, vendor meetings, and logistical reviews to ensure operational readiness and high-quality execution.
• Serve as the primary on-site decision-maker during live events, proactively managing issues and escalations in real time.
• Demonstrate a "player-coach" approach by contributing directly to execution while leading overall event strategy, team performance, and delivery outcomes.
• Maintain flexibility to travel and work extended or non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on event schedules.
