Job summary

West Virginia University’s WVU Cancer Institute in Morgantown is seeking a Hybrid Special Events Coordinator Senior to lead strategic event planning, CME activities, and high-profile events from concept to post-event evaluation.

You will oversee budgets, contracts, sponsorships, accreditation compliance, and reporting, coordinating with faculty and leadership to advance educational programs and institutional priorities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of event management experience
• Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder events
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, development, and execution of institutional conferences, educational programs, CME activities, and special events
• Oversee full project lifecycle from concept through post-event evaluation
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and timelines
• Delegate logistics to staff while ensuring successful delivery
• Ensure accreditation compliance and accurate documentation for CME activities
• Manage event budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships
