Job summary

The Ground is seeking an Event Service Manager to lead the successful execution of catered events on-site and off-site in the Willamette Valley region. You will be the day‑of event leader, guiding service teams, upholding The Ground's standards, and ensuring flawless guest experiences.

You will hire and coach Event Leads and staff, coordinate with multiple teams, and manage logistics, inventories, and post‑event reporting. A strong hospitality mindset and precise operations are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience leading catering, banquet, or hospitality event service operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading high-volume event service teams.
• Strong ability to lead calmly and confidently in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite and offsite catered events as the primary Event Service Lead.
• Execute event timelines, service standards, and operational plans from setup to breakdown.
• Make real-time decisions as onsite operations leader to ensure smooth execution.
• Act as primary onsite client contact, resolving issues with professionalism.
• Direct event setup, service, strike, load-in/out, and inventory management.
• Maintain event logs and share post-event feedback with planning team.
• Hire, train, coach, and supervise Event Leads and staff.
• Foster hospitality culture and accountability, ensuring staffing aligns with needs.
• Oversee event readiness, equipment, wares, and storage areas.
• Coordinate with facilities and contractors to keep venue operational.
• Collaborate with Sales, Planning, Culinary, Beverage, and Hospitality Operations.
• Manage event billing and accounts receivable in tandem with Sales/Finance.
