We're seeking an experienced Senior Event Marketing Manager to join the Global Events Team to lead the Expo program for our flagship events, AWS re:Inforce and re:Invent. As Senior Event Marketing Manager, you'll design innovative expo environments that educate customers, engage AWS partners, and deliver measurable business results. Success requires strategic vision, project management skills, and the ability to influence global stakeholders.

This strategic role requires deep marketing expertise to drive audience engagement, build community, and align event experiences with broader portfolio and marketing objectives. The ideal candidate combines creative and analytical thinking with proven expertise in both strategy and execution. You'll need leadership capabilities and the ability to influence without authority, building effective relationships with agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. We're looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, excels at problem-solving, and consistently delivers results in fast-paced environments.

Success in this role requires the ability to envision large-scale event strategies while maintaining precise attention to tactical execution, balancing the big picture of conference planning with meticulous coordination. They will be responsible for managing substantial budgets while maintaining high standard for the attendee experiences. The successful candidate will also bring a customer-obsessed mindset, constantly seeking ways to enhance exhibition experiences and drive meaningful business outcomes through innovative expo design and execution.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of the Expo experience for AWS re:Invent and re:Inforce, inclusive of the AWS Village and spaces
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships across AWS portfolio and product teams, marketing, creative, operations, and external vendors
  • Align multiple stakeholders on program objectives through strategic relationship building and effective communication
  • Create and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans for multiple expo areas
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure brand consistency and compelling storytelling across all expo environments
  • Coordinate with technical teams to enable product demonstrations and interactive experiences
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contracts for booth construction, staffing, and interactive elements
  • Develop scalable frameworks to standardize expo execution and enable program expansion across the events portfolio
  • Drive booth traffic strategies and develop metrics to measure success across all AWS expo presence and optimize future programs
  • Implement risk management and contingency plans for large-scale expo experiences
  • Navigate ambiguity with clear decision-making while maintaining program momentum
  • Mentor workstream leads and build trusted relationships across all organizational levels
  • Deliver creative approaches to improve customer experience at events
  • Travel up to 20% of the time

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events, in-person, virtual, and hybrid event formats

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

  • Experience with Excel, Tableau and Airtable (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
