AWS is seeking a Senior Event Marketing Manager to join our Global Events team within AWS Marketing. This role will lead key AWS internal leadership events, which are strategic global gatherings designed to unite our internal audience, ensure alignment with business priorities, drive connection, foster community, and celebrate wins.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned event professional who seamlessly blends creative vision with analytical acumen, demonstrating expertise in both strategic planning and flawless execution. This position requires leadership skills and the ability to influence without direct authority, as you'll be building and maintaining relationships with agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

As a Senior Event Marketing Manager, you'll have significant exposure to executive leadership, necessitating polished writing skills and the confidence to communicate effectively with high-level stakeholders. We're looking for an individual who thrives in ambiguous situations, excels at problem-solving, and consistently delivers results in a fast-paced environment.

Your role will be crucial in creating best-in-class event experiences that educate, inform, connect, and inspire employees. You'll be responsible for ensuring these internal events align with AWS's business objectives while fostering a sense of community and recognizing achievements within the organization. This position offers an opportunity to shape the internal culture of AWS through impactful events, requiring a balance of strategic thinking, creative innovation, and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategy of the event experience and execution of AWS internal events
  • Partner with global cross-functional teams to build comprehensive roadmaps for workstream strategies, timelines, and expectations
  • Deliver strategic plans, updates, and results to the highest levels of leadership
  • Design innovative ways to connect employees across in-person, hybrid, and virtual audiences.
  • Align multiple stakeholders on program objectives through strategic relationship building and effective communication
  • Develop scalable frameworks to standardize execution and enable program expansion
  • Establish and track KPIs, analyzing data to drive continuous improvement and optimize future programs
  • Implement risk management and contingency plans
  • Navigate ambiguity with clear decision-making while maintaining program momentum
  • Mentor workstream leads and build trusted relationships across all organizational levels
  • Deliver creative approaches to improve customer experience at events
  • Travel up to 20% of the time

A day in the life

You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop and execute complex, high-profile internal events; analyze data to inform strategy; and, communicate results to senior leadership. You'll balance strategic planning with tactical execution while maintaining focus on customer experience and business outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
