Job summary

ChargePoint is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer - Interconnects in Campbell, CA to lead the electromechanical design of high-voltage interconnects for EV chargers. You will own cable harness development, translate schematics into wiring diagrams, and drive mass production with suppliers.

Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in mechanical/electrical harness design, CAD experience (NX preferred), and strong DFx and testing skills. This role is on-site in Campbell, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4-8 years of industry experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, or Harness Design.
• Strong working knowledge of cable design, grounding, shielding, and mass production processes.
• Skilled in rapid prototyping and mechanical testing methodology.
• Self-starter able to drive multiple parts of product design.
• Able to learn quickly and operate outside of comfort zone.
• Proficient in CAD (NX highly preferred).
• Proficient in cable routing tools.
• Ability to review and optimize 2D drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Own the electromechanical design for high-voltage conductors, cables, interconnects, mechanical parts, and subsystems in EV chargers.
• Convert electrical schematics into cable harness drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Interface with suppliers to mass produce designs.
• Identify design opportunities for quality, cost, assembly, and manufacturing.
• Perform root cause and failure analysis on current products.
