Job summary

Heitmeyer Consulting seeks a Senior ETL Developer to join the Enterprise Data Warehouse team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build high-quality data pipelines and follow SDLC best practices.

The ideal candidate brings passion for data engineering, cloud data platforms, and modern ETL technologies, with hands-on experience in Snowflake, Python, PySpark, DataStage, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military or professional experience).
• 3+ years of ETL development experience within an enterprise data warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts, architecture, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, DataStage, SQL, and Snowflake.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions on AWS and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of cloud migration strategies and modern data platform architectures.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements and data mapping specifications into technical designs.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain ETL processes following coding standards and best practices.
• Build and optimize data pipelines using technologies such as Snowflake, Python/PySpark, DataStage, and SQL.
• Create and execute unit test plans and support system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues identified during testing and production support.
• Collaborate with project teams to communicate progress, risks, issues, and blockers.
• Support cloud migration and data modernization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance tuning, and continuous process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SDLC, data governance, security, and quality standards.
