Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions seeks a Senior Estimator to join the preconstruction team, developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for heavy civil projects. The role focuses on large-scale site development, roadway construction, underground utilities, and data center initiatives.

The Senior Estimator collaborates with operations, project management, and business development to support pursuits from early budgeting through final bid submission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Proven experience in sitework, utilities, and civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil scopes including mass grading, sitework, underground utilities, concrete, and paving.
• Perform conceptual, design development, and final bid estimates.
• Coordinate with operations to validate means, methods, and production rates.
• Develop estimates for large-scale site development including excavation, embankment, and grading.
• Prepare estimates for private roadway and paving infrastructure.
• Estimate underground utility systems including water, sewer, storm drainage, and duct banks.

Job description

The Senior Estimator is a critical member of the preconstruction team responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for complex heavy civil projects. This role focuses on large-scale infrastructure including site development, roadway construction, and

underground utilities, as well as industrial and mission-critical (data center) projects. The Senior Estimator collaborates closely with operations, project management, and business development to support pursuits from early conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil scopes including mass grading, sitework, underground utilities, concrete, and paving.
• Perform conceptual, design development, and final bid estimates.
• Coordinate with operations to validate means, methods, and production rates.
• Develop estimates for large-scale site development including excavation, embankment, and grading.
• Prepare estimates for private roadway and paving infrastructure.
• Estimate underground utility systems including water, sewer, storm drainage, and duct banks.

Industrial & Mission Critical Projects

• Support industrial and mission-critical (data center) civil scopes.
• Incorporate accelerated schedules, utility redundancy, and phased turnover requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop production-driven estimates.
• Identify risks related to subsurface conditions, materials, labor, and site constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Proven experience in sitework, utilities, and civil infrastructure.
