Job summary

Reeder General Contractors is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the overall project estimate or bid, mentoring the preconstruction team under the Director of Preconstruction. You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to plan costs and prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.

You will develop budgets in early planning, establish estimating strategy, and lead bid reviews.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience with large, complex projects.
• Strong understanding of current market conditions and cost drivers.
• Advanced knowledge of constructability and scheduling.
• Experience in preconstruction planning and value engineering.
• Interview experience representing the company to owners/architects.

Responsibilities

• Lead major pursuits and serve as primary estimating lead on large bids.
• Develop conceptual budgets during early planning and preconstruction.
• Set estimating strategy, resources, and timelines for pursuits.
• Lead bid reviews and present final numbers to leadership.
• Perform risk assessments and identify cost/schedule risks.
• Review contracts for scope, terms, and exposure.
• Develop value engineering options to protect scope and cost.
• Support business development with proposal input and client positioning.
• Represent preconstruction in owner/architect interviews.
• Improve estimating procedures, tools, and standards.
• Lead and mentor estimating staff with training and guidance.
• Coordinate scheduling across pursuits to meet deadlines.
