Job summary

Legence, including its IMD division, is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead the preconstruction and estimating function for complex mechanical systems projects. You will drive cost analyses, coordinate with clients, contractors, and design teams, and guide the bid process from start to finish.

The ideal candidate has 15–20 years of plumbing or sheet metal estimating experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and proficiency with Quick Pen and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Minimum 15–20 years of experience as a plumbing or sheet metal estimator, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience leading estimating efforts on complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and bid processes with clients, contractors, and design teams.
• Interpret plans and specifications with expert-level accuracy; develop detailed cost estimates.
• Coordinate estimating across multiple trades and prepare bid packages for executive review.
• Mentor estimating team and optimize estimating processes and tools.
