Job summary

Northwest Pipe Company, a leading precast water infrastructure manufacturer, is seeking an Estimator with 5+ years experience to lead the estimation process for complex projects. You will analyze blueprints, develop detailed cost estimates, and coordinate with Sales, Project Management, and Operations to ensure competitive bids.

This role requires strong reading of civil plans, knowledge of precast production, excellent communication, and a proven bid-submission track record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years of estimating experience in a manufacturing office.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and civil plans with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with civil engineering terminology.
• Proven bid submissions and estimate accuracy with English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze and interpret architectural and civil blueprints, specifications, and related documentation for bid preparation.
• Prepare and manage detailed estimates for large-scale or complex construction projects, including comprehensive scopes of work.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Operations teams to align pricing strategies and execution.
• Develop and refine takeoff and estimation processes using company software and industry best practices.
• Lead estimation on specialized precast concrete products and custom structures, considering production capabilities.
• Provide mentorship and quality assurance reviews for Estimating Specialist I and junior teammates.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client consultations, and project kick-offs as required.
• Conduct cost analysis to support value engineering and project optimization efforts.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing structures.
• Ensure compliance with NWPX Precast policies, safety standards, and estimating procedures.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, organization, and communication throughout the estimating lifecycle.
