Job summary

Stellar Energy Global Infrastructure (SEGI) in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior/Lead Estimator to own total project cost estimates for proposals. You will work with Business and Technical Developers to produce accurate, defendable numbers, including equipment, labor, and installation costs, and to defend assumptions to leadership.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and processes, with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum of five years of cost estimating experience on power generation, energy, industrial, or similar capital projects.
• Expert proficiency in Excel and the ability to build auditable workbooks.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Developers and Technical Developers to compile accurate, defensible total project cost estimates.
• Own each estimate end to end, including assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and contingency.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor quotations to confirm scope is complete and comparable.
• Track and document the commercial basis of every quote and escalation terms.
• Work with Engineering, Project Management, and other teams to develop labor costs.
• Integrate installation and construction costs into the total estimate.
• Critically evaluate inputs and apply judgement rather than transferring data as received.
• Challenge estimates and data when inconsistent with historical data or benchmarks.
• Maintain a central database of pricing, vendor history, and standard inclusions/exclusions.
• Present estimates to executive leadership with confidence and clarity.
