Job summary

Horizontal Boring & Tunneling Co. is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to lead bids and manage underground construction projects from initiation to completion.

You will be responsible for overall estimating, project financials, and ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role may involve regional travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience as an Estimator or Project Manager.
• 5+ years field experience in utilities or underground construction, ideally as a Superintendent or PM.
• 3+ years experience managing others.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, geotechnical or related field.
• Broad knowledge of the construction industry.
• PE license is a plus.
• OSHA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimate, review, and submit bids accurately, timely, and competitively.
• Review drawings and expectations; identify concerns and develop solutions.
• Supervisor of preparation of pre-qualification, submittal and bid packages.
• Follow-up on bids and maintain communication with customers.
• Coordinate delivery of materials and ensure lead times.
• Oversee project financials, cost breakdowns, invoices and closeouts.
• Manage schedules and change orders; ensure safety and quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation and protect company interests.
