Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group in Portland, OR is seeking a Mid-level to Senior Estimator to join our Heavy Civil and Underground Construction team. The role focuses on microtunneling, utility tunnels, HDD, and trenchless projects, delivering accurate cost estimates and competitive bids.

The successful candidate will lead takeoffs, risk review, and proposals, liaise with operations and design teams, and mentor junior estimators while maintaining market pricing and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, underground, or trenchless construction.
• Experience estimating microtunneling, utility tunnel, boring, or similar underground projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as InEight, HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil and underground projects.
• Review drawings, specs, geotechnical reports, and contracts to identify scope and risks.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and project management through estimating process.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to estimating best practices.
