Job summary

ACCIONA has an opportunity for a Senior Estimator in the United States to develop detailed bid-stage estimates for heavy civil infrastructure projects. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze labor/equipment/material costs, and establish accurate budgets, collaborating with estimating, engineering, project management, operations and procurement for design-build and other delivery methods.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated experience on large design-build, P3 civil projects (roads, bridges, tunnels).
Previous experience supporting the bidding process.
Working knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
Ability to read engineering drawings, PO's, contracts and cost coding systems.
Experience on highway/DOT projects; joint venture exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare Order of Magnitude (OOM) Budgets based on reference documents.
Set up Cost Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for complex heavy civil/transportation projects.
Perform quantity take-offs and assemble BoQ documents.
Develop direct cost estimates from project specs, drawings and addenda.
Prepare and update construction budgets as design progresses.
Coordinate and lead Estimating Working Group meetings with partners.
Source and manage subcontractors and suppliers for best value.
Prepare procurement packages with specs and BoQ for procurement.
