Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead large, complex project estimates and coordinate with staff at all levels, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Estimator will provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex work projects.

Based in one of several locations (Denver, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Chicago, or Milwaukee), the role emphasizes interaction with owners, architects, and engineers to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
• Nine years construction industry experience with six years estimating experience.
• LEED AP, DBIA professional preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts on large and complex projects.
• Provide conceptual, detailed, self-perform estimates, and cost models.
• Organize and plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and submission.
• Determine subcontractors for bidding process and final pricing.
• Assign work to estimating team and ensure accurate information.
• Conduct quantity surveys, cost estimates, and review subcontractor proposals.
• Research tax laws, permits, and contractual requirements.
• Communicate updates and scope understanding with team and subcontractors.
• Research and analyze historical project data for current applications.
• Lead, train, and mentor estimators; perform performance evaluations.
