FlatironDragados is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare project estimates by analyzing specifications and plans, ensuring cost-effective quantities and methods aligned with pursuit, schedule, and price goals.

You will review drawings, historical data, and risks to develop disciplined estimates and support large, complex pursuits. Strong writing skills and leadership in estimating activities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control preferred.
• Specialized knowledge and experience in alternative construction delivery methods.
• Experience using sophisticated estimating software. HCSS Heavybid preferred.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Able to lead pursuit and estimating activities on a large or complex pursuit project.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Incorporates historical data from PO, subcontracts, and reports into unit and man-hour figures.
• Provides technical input regarding project risks to lead estimator for final bid price approval.
• Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs and material quantities from drawings.
• Monitors client addendum and advises estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
• Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on cost and materials availability.
• Partner with estimating team to conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management teams.
