Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an estimator in the United States to prepare and analyze design/build and GMP estimates, and manage bid day activities. You will review subcontractor quotes, develop vendor scopes, and guide junior staff in estimating procedures.

You will work on diverse projects with emphasis on cost control, accurate pricing, and timely delivery, supporting multiple trades and complex bid processes.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications to identify missing elements.
• Experience with multiple trades and project types.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design/build, engineer, construction management, GMP, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
• Analyzes quotations and evaluates bids for scope, time, and specs.
• Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes and review for completeness.
• Mentors junior staff in estimating procedures.
• Manages bid day and close-out activities.
