Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned estimator in the United States to prepare design/build, engineer, CMA, GMP, and hard-bid estimates/proposals. You will analyze quotations, evaluate bids from subcontractors, and develop complete scopes with accurate take-offs.

Responsibilities include guiding junior staff on estimating procedures, coordinating with subs, and supporting overall corporate estimating functions while traveling 20% to 40% as required by project needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years related experience; travel 20-40%.
• Domestic and international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design/build, engineer, CMA, GMP, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
• Analyze quotations before bid day.
• Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for scope, time, and specs.
• Enter quantity take-offs and material unit prices.
• Provide guidance to junior staff on estimating procedures and the use of estimating software.
