Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent construction experience.
• 8+ years of progressive estimating experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods across all major trades.
• Proficiency with estimating software (ProEst, etc.) and Microsoft 365; scheduling knowledge (Primavera) preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships.
• Leadership ability to guide and develop junior estimators.
• Experience with design-build, design-assist, conceptual estimating, and progressive preconstruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for large-scale, ground-up and complex renovation projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Define and assign divisions of responsibility across estimating team; ensure coordination within preconstruction.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor outreach, solicit bids, and conduct scope reviews across all trades.
• Develop conceptual budgets, schematic estimates, and final proposals aligned with client goals and schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, executives, and clients to ensure scope and cost alignment.
• Leverage internal self-perform expertise to validate market pricing and strengthen estimates.
• Maintain and expand cost databases, benchmarks, and historical records.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior estimators and support staff.
• Present estimates and recommendations to clients and leadership with clarity and professionalism.
• Prepare and review subcontractor bid comparisons and normalize proposals for complete coverage.
• Lead estimate turnover and handoff to project operations post-award.
