Job summary

Performance Contracting seeks an experienced Senior Estimator for its PCI New England 586 operations based in Boston, MA. You will estimate projects involving drywall, framing, acoustics, and interior finishes for commercial, cleanroom, or biotechnology facilities.

Responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, labor productivity, vendor pricing, subcontractor pricing, bid reviews, and contract administration. Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, PlanSwift, and Procore is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience estimating construction projects.
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction.
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods.
• Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills.
• Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work.
• Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.
• Must have a sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process.
• Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently.
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned.
• Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

This position is safety sensitive.

Salary range is between $120,000 to $145,000, depending on experience.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline


• Experience with drywall, framing, acoustics, and interior finishes on commercial projects, to also include cleanrooms and biotechnology facilities.


• OSHA certification


• Experience working with union representatives


• Local to the Boston, MA area.
