Job summary

AlphaGov seeks a Senior Estimator to lead complex Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) project estimates within a specialty construction contracting environment. Knoxville-based candidates are preferred, with remote options based on experience.

The role emphasizes independent review of scope, pricing, and risk from bid through final proposal. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in construction estimating, strong cost-analysis skills, and proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in construction estimating or related project management, with strong preference for IMP estimating experience.
• Proven track record owning complex estimates and competitive bids for Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) projects.
• Experience in advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities, or industrial construction preferred.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specs, blueprints, and bid documents.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, labor/material pricing, installation costs, and cost analysis.
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Knoxville or East Tennessee location preferred; relocation or remote work may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for IMP projects.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid packages to establish scope, installation requirements, and costs.
• Oversee quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and installation cost calculations.
• Evaluate requirements, identify scope gaps, and assess cost exposures affecting bid accuracy and profitability.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations to validate pricing and support bid development.
• Develop complete bid proposals with defined scope inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and pricing.
• Collaborate with general contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve questions and confirm project requirements.
• Maintain consistent estimating documentation, pricing records, and bid review processes.
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and commercial competitiveness before submission.
• Provide estimating guidance and technical input on complex IMP projects.
