Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for IMP projects.
• Review complex drawings, specs, and bid packages to establish scope and costs.
• Oversee quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and installation costs.
• Evaluate requirements, identify scope gaps, and assess cost exposures for bids.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to validate pricing and bid competitiveness.
• Develop complete bid proposals with defined inclusions, exclusions, and pricing.
• Collaborate with GC, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve questions.
• Maintain consistent estimating documentation, pricing records, and bid reviews.

We are looking for a Senior Estimator to lead complex estimating efforts and develop accurate, competitive bids for Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) projects within a specialty construction contracting environment. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client serving advanced manufacturing, mission-critical, and industrial construction markets. This role requires substantial estimating experience, strong technical knowledge of IMP systems, and the ability to independently evaluate project scope, pricing, and cost risks from initial bid review through final proposal submission. Candidates based in Knoxville or East Tennessee are preferred, but remote candidates may be considered based on experience and fit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) projects.
• Review complex construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages to establish scope, installation requirements, and project costs.
• Oversee detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive labor, material, equipment, and installation cost calculations.
• Evaluate project requirements, identify scope gaps, and assess cost exposures that could affect bid accuracy and profitability.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations to validate pricing, identify discrepancies, and support competitive bid development.
• Develop complete bid proposals with clearly defined scope inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and pricing details.
• Collaborate with general contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical questions and confirm project requirements.
• Establish and maintain consistent estimating documentation, pricing records, and bid review processes.
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and commercial competitiveness before final submission.
• Provide estimating guidance and technical input on complex IMP projects, supporting sound pricing decisions and successful project acquisition.

• 8+ years of direct construction estimating or closely related project management experience, with strong preference for substantial IMP estimating experience.
• Proven track record preparing and owning complex estimates and competitive bids for Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) projects.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities, or industrial construction is strongly preferred.
• Advanced ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, blueprints, and bid documents.
• Extensive experience with quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, installation costs, and construction cost analysis.
• Proficiency with construction estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and related estimating tools.
• Strong commercial judgment and analytical skills, including the ability to identify pricing risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Knoxville or East Tennessee location preferred; qualified candidates open to relocation or remote work may be considered.

Compensation: $90,000–$125,000 annually, based on experience.
