Job summary

The Fordy Group is seeking a Senior Estimator in the Charlotte, NC area to lead preconstruction efforts for heavy highway and asphalt projects. You will own estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate subcontractor pricing to support high-profile infrastructure bids.

Ideal candidates bring proven experience in heavy civil and asphalt estimating, strong analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency with HCSS, Bluebeam Revu, and AGTEK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience estimating heavy civil and asphalt projects.
• Ability to read, interpret, and scale civil engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil, highway, and asphalt projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and enter data into HCSS HeavyBid.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing, including RFPs and RFIs.
• Identify risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with project management and operations to ensure estimates align with construction methods.
