Job summary

WW Clyde in Arizona is seeking an Estimator to prepare contract proposal estimates for heavy civil projects, including earthwork, underground utilities, and site concrete. You will review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope and required contents of the estimate, perform takeoffs, and develop accurate costs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 10+ years of estimating experience, with proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years estimating in earthwork, utilities, and site concrete.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, Trimble, BlueBeam, Excel, and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal estimates for heavy civil construction, primarily in earthwork, underground utilities, and site concrete.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Develop accurate estimated costs to complete the applicable scope of work.
• Maintain the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up to date.
• Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Obtain bids from subcontractors.
• Support other department personnel as required.
