Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking an Estimator - Heavy Civil to prepare contract proposal estimates for dirt work, underground utilities, concrete, and related scope on heavy civil projects in Arizona. You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, and develop cost estimates to support competitive bids.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with at least 3 years of estimating experience, strong communication, organization, and proficiency with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience estimating in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of construction design, methods and finance.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Skilled in meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Bid, Trimble, BlueBeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Primavera P6, Building Connected, and Viewpoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal estimates for heavy civil construction including dirt work, underground utilities and concrete.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope and required contents of estimate; determine project plans.
• Prepare estimates by calculating takeoffs of scope of work.
• Develop accurate estimated costs to complete the scope of work.
• Maintain estimating cost database to keep costs up to date.
• Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost and quality.
• Obtain bids from subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
• Support other department personnel as required.
