Job summary

Astra Group, Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead bid efforts for heavy civil and DOT projects. You will gather data from clients, vendors, and the operations team to create comprehensive bid packages.

Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates and budgets, quantity takeoffs, and maintaining bid schedules. Travel to jobsites will be required to gather information and ensure accurate estimates while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• 5+ years estimator experience with knowledge of listed software/tools.
• Experience with heavy civil and DOT projects preferred.
• Reading plans/drawings to prepare estimates

Responsibilities

• Bidding Heavy Civil and DOT projects
• Create and maintain bid schedule with Owner/Program Manager
• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for bids
• Prepare quantity takeoffs from bid documents
• Both hard bid and design/build conceptual estimating
• Identify cost factors: duration, labor, equipment, materials
• Read plans/drawings/standards to prepare estimates
• Analyze construction staging/workflows for constructability
