Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions seeks a Senior Estimator for heavy civil projects in the Raleigh area, focusing on highway and bridge work, including NCDOT lettings. You will lead bids from takeoff to bid day and shape pricing strategy with leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in heavy civil estimating, DOT bid experience, and a track record of mentoring junior estimators. Relocation to the Triangle region is welcome; a strong backlog supports ongoing work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of heavy civil estimating with lead estimator experience on DOT bids.
• Experience in highway, bridge, earthwork, paving and drainage estimating.
• Strong takeoff and production-based pricing skills.
• Contractor-side estimating (not design-side cost estimating).
• NCDOT bid experience is a plus.
• Based in the Triangle or willing to relocate to Raleigh area.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates on heavy civil highway and bridge bids from takeoff through bid day.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specs.
• Build crew, equipment and production-based cost estimates.
• Solicit, level and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop bid strategy, risk review and pricing with leadership.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits.
• Track NCDOT lettings and build the bid schedule.
• Mentor junior estimators and keep estimating database current.
• Hand awarded work to the project team with a budget.
• Review bid results and capture lessons for future estimates.
