AMES1, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr Estimator (Federal Construction) to join our experienced team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in the preparation and submission of competitive bids for federal construction projects. As a Federal Estimator, you will analyze project specifications, work closely with various stakeholders, and develop accurate cost estimates that align with government requirements. JOB DUTIES

• Supports business development and operations departments by providing bids/quotes to both established and potential clients.
• Collaborates with other estimators.
• Carefully prepares complete estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Works and teams with subcontractors to aid in determining pricing for bids.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 5 to 10 years of proven experience as an estimator in the Federal/DoD construction arena required. Vertical construction experience HIGHLY DESIRED.
• Knowledge of SABER and JOC Coefficient contracts required.
• Experience using RS Means is a must.
• Must have general working knowledge and understanding of all types of construction planning/specifications that may be applicable to the projects undertaken.
• Must be able to visualize and develop project budgets and possess excellent communication skills.
• Candidates must also have strong computer skills and be proficient with estimating software.
• Timberline software knowledge strongly preferred.
• Ability to multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Detail oriented and thorough.
• Ability to work as a team player to accomplish day-to-day activities.
• Preferred applicants will have a degree or high school diploma/GED, or the equivalent.
• Stable job history.
• Must treat others with dignity and respect.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to travel as required by job - either by car or air. May also require long travel days.
• May have to temporarily work in extreme temperatures while assessing potential projects.
• Must be able to sit, concentrate, and/or stand for long periods of time and use a computer.
• Must be able to visit and physically tour potential work sites.
• Must be able to lift at least 5 pounds.
