Job summary

Winter Environmental is seeking an experienced Estimator – Environmental & Specialty Contracting to prepare competitive, accurate estimates for environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, mold remediation, selective interior demolition, and industrial demolition projects across the Southeast and Eastern United States.

The role requires collaborating with project managers, operations teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, with travel to project sites and pre-bid

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of estimating experience in environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, demolition, heavy civil, environmental construction, or related industries.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong understanding of labor production, equipment costing, subcontractor pricing, and material estimating.
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and competitive proposals.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, mold remediation, selective interior demolition, and industrial demolition projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and disposal estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
• Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client walkthroughs.
• Develop competitive proposals and assist with bid submissions.
• Coordinate with project managers and operations teams during project turnover.
• Maintain historical cost information and estimating databases.
• Support business development efforts by assisting with budgeting, conceptual estimates, and negotiated proposals.
