Job summary

E3 is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare full estimates on large, complex remediation projects in a professional office setting. You will coordinate take-offs, gather material costs, obtain subcontractor bids, and assemble complete bid packages in line with client documents.

Candidates should have 5–8 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of business principles and practices.
• Knowledge of remediation materials, methods, equipment and tools.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates and understands scope of work to bid.
• Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
• Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Creates job folders.
• Executes take-offs of service documents.
• Inputs take-offs into computer spreadsheet.
• Obtains pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors.
• Prepares cost analysis recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.
• Makes an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available.
• Informs supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or database.
• Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements.
• Attends departmental meetings as required.
• Photocopies documents and plans.
