Qualifications

  • Minimum education includes Asbestos Supervisor Certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • OSHA 30; CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in construction, demolition, or environmental remediation.
  • High School Diploma or College Degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with past clients (consultants, contractors, agencies) for the Company's services.
  • Follows up to secure projects on open opportunities.
  • Develops business relations as potential clients for the Company.
  • Develops and follows up on bid leads from iSqft, Blue Book and others.
  • Walks sites, creates bids, and assists with pre/post project documentation.
  • Provides project management for acquired and assigned projects.
  • Attends pre-bid and progress meetings; gathers project information.
  • Supports other offices with project walkthroughs and management.
  • Other similar management and business development tasks.

Position Description - Estimator/Project Manager

Business Group/Dept: Operations/Sales

FLSA: Exempt

Reports To: Branch Manager

Date: March 27, 2024

Purpose of the Position

Seek out and bids on projects typical of Company’s business lines. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing customers. Manage overall performance of assigned projects from start to finish. Supervises and coordinates activities of supervisors and workers while demonstrating a commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality work. Reviews job specifications, inspects work site, and confers with contracting agent to evaluate removal project.


Essential Position Responsibilities


  • Builds relationships with past clients such as Consultants, Contractors, Facilities representatives, Governmental agencies, Railroad Companies, etc., for the services of the Company.

  • Follows up on relationships and works to secure projects for the Company on all open opportunities.

  • Seeks out and develops business relations as potential clients for the Company.

  • Develops, submits, searches for and follows up on bid leads from various sources including those from iSqft, Blue Book and other lead sources.

  • Walks projects, creates bids, assists with pre-project set up, pre-job documentation, and post project documentation.

  • Provides project management for acquired projects as well as project management for assigned projects.

  • Attends pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meetings, construction progress meetings and gathers project information as needed on own projects as well as on directly managed projects.

  • Assists other Company offices as assigned; typical duties, to walk projects for other estimators/project managers and provide project management for jobs that originated from other offices.

  • Other similar management and business development tasks.


Physical activities: Talking; sitting; typing; entering data, often in small print. Occasional walking; climbing stairs; exposure to hazards typical of construction sites.


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Occasional utilization of: half-face or full face respirator; steel toed footwear; earplugs; protective eyewear; hardhat.


Safety Sensitive: Yes


Location: In person; normal business hours


Minimum Education: Asbestos Supervisor Certification


Preferred skill set: High School Diploma or College Level Degree; Bilingual English/Spanish; OSHA 30; CPR/First Aid Certification; Experience in construction, demolition, or environmental remediation


Travel: 25 - 50%
