Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and related projects
• Prepare detailed conceptual budgets, estimates, and competitive bids
• Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and subcontractor bid leveling
• Work with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams
• Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving recommendations
• Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and assist with project planning
• Collaborate with operations teams to transition from estimating to construction

I'm partnered with one of the oldest and most established General Contractors in the Chicago area that's looking to add a Senior Estimator to its growing preconstruction team.

With approximately $200M in annual revenue, this GC has built an incredible reputation in the Chicago market, with a portfolio primarily focused on commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and other commercial construction projects.

One of the biggest selling points here is the stability of their work. With nearly 100% repeat business, long-standing client relationships, and an impressive backlog of secured projects, this company offers the consistency of an established GC while continuing to experience significant growth.

They're looking for an experienced Senior Estimator who can take ownership of estimates, work closely with clients and project teams, and play an important role in the company's continued expansion.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead estimating efforts for commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and other commercial projects
• Prepare detailed conceptual budgets, estimates, and competitive bids
• Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and subcontractor bid leveling
• Work closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams
• Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving recommendations
• Develop and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and assist with project planning
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating into construction

What They're Looking For:

• Senior Estimator or experienced Estimator background with a General Contractor
• Strong commercial interiors, tenant improvement, or renovation experience preferred
• Experience preparing conceptual estimates, detailed budgets, and competitive bids
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor scopes, construction costs, and market pricing
• Ability to independently manage estimates from initial budgeting through final submission
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and internal teams
