Job summary

Clear. is seeking a Senior Estimator for its Houston team to lead preconstruction and estimating activities on large-scale hyperscale and colocation data center developments valued between $200M and $600M.

The role requires experience with mission-critical facilities and a strong grasp of large-scale construction and MEP systems. You will develop detailed estimates, perform take-offs, review drawings, manage subcontractor outreach, and present commercial recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong understanding of large-scale construction and MEP systems.
• Experience estimating projects valued at $200M or more.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Experience with estimating and take-off software.
• Strong commercial, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic design, design development and final construction estimates.
• Develop detailed estimates for hyperscale and colocation data center projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive cost plans.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents for scope gaps and risks.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid packages and proposal evaluations.
• Complete bid leveling and support subcontractor selection.
• Partner with operations, design, scheduling and procurement teams.
• Lead value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Maintain historical cost data and current market pricing.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and cost-saving opportunities.
• Present estimates and commercial recommendations to leadership and clients.
• Support project handover from preconstruction into construction.

Compensation: $210,000–$260,000 base salary + 15% bonus

My client, an established general contractor delivering major mission-critical projects across the United States, is looking for a Senior Estimator with prior data center construction experience to join its Houston team.

This individual will lead preconstruction and estimating activities for large-scale hyperscale and colocation data center developments valued between $200M and $600M.
