Join to apply for the Senior Estimator Construction role at Walbridge.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Estimator to join Walbridge. In this role, you will coordinate full estimating service efforts for all Construction Specification Institute (CSI) divisions on large, complex work within Lump Sum, Design Build, and Construction Management contractual formats. You will interpret designs, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents, as well as operate across multiple delivery systems or be highly proficient in one specific system.

Location: You can be based on-site in Detroit, Pittsburgh, or Charlotte. Minimal travel is required.

Responsibilities:

• Proposal Reviews: Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and estimate contents.
• Scope Development: Develop and understand scope requirements, issue subcontracts for trades like boilermaker, steel, concrete, piping, electrical; write scopes of work during bidding and after award; engage in subcontractor proposal review meetings; evaluate and negotiate subcontracts.
• Cost Preparation: Prepare cost estimates and bid documents for management, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Strategic Planning: Identify competitive strategies, review contractual requirements, communicate risk factors, schedule, insurance, bonding, penalties, and develop action plans.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma.
• At least five years of estimating, preconstruction, or related construction management experience.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Organizational skills for coordinating teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera.

Skills and Attributes:

• Technical knowledge of construction and estimating processes.
• Budget management, financial forecasting, resource allocation skills.
• Ability to assess and mitigate project risks.
