Job summary

Consigli Construction Co. in Washington, DC seeks an experienced estimator to lead complex, large-scale bids and deliver accurate cost estimates for major projects.

You will analyze drawings and specifications to build thorough time, cost, and labor estimates and manage subcontractor relations. You will collaborate with design teams to develop competitive bids, support business development, and ensure adherence to high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with minimum 3 years in estimating.
• 8+ years of experience in construction.
• Proficiency in Excel and specialized estimating software.
• Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure estimating process runs smoothly and meets client expectations.
• Build relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors.
• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Facilitate collaboration among team members.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor.
• Develop in-house budgets and GMP.
• Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
• Manage subcontractor solicitation & selection.
• Prepare Exhibit B, and/or scope sheets.
• Ensure bid quality and accuracy.
