Job summary

Northern Nevada Contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the full estimating process from concept to turnover on commercial and public projects in the Reno area. This role requires independent ownership of budgets, takeoffs, and final pricing across multiple trades.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on estimating experience with public-sector work, and a background in design-build and construction management. Strong communication with owners and teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on construction estimating experience.
• Experience with public-sector projects of comparable size and complexity.
• Ability to independently take an estimate from conception through turnover.
• Experience with Design-Build and Construction Management delivery.
• Strong owner, design-team and subcontractor communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates from conceptual stages through final bid and project turnover.
• Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs and final pricing.
• Estimate commercial and public projects, typically ranging from $15M to $100M+.
• Support Construction Management and Design-Build project delivery.
• Review drawings, specifications and requirements across major trades.
• Lead subcontractor solicitation, scope review, bid leveling and pricing analysis.
• Identify risks, constructability concerns and VE opportunities.
• Work with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and pursuits.
