Energy Jobline ZR is partnering with a long-established Chicago-area General Contractor to hire a Senior Estimator for its preconstruction team. The role focuses on commercial interiors, tenant improvements, and renovations with ownership of estimates and close client collaboration.

Qualifications

• Senior Estimator or experienced Estimator background with a General Contractor.
• Strong commercial interiors, tenant improvements, or renovation experience.
• Experience preparing conceptual estimates, detailed budgets, and competitive bids.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor scopes, construction costs, and market pricing.
• Ability to independently manage estimates from initial budgeting through final submission.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and other commercial projects.
• Prepare detailed conceptual budgets, estimates, and competitive bids.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and subcontractor bid leveling.
• Work closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving recommendations.
• Develop and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and assist with project planning.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating into construction.
