The position oversees bids from smaller commercial jobs to multimillion-dollar developments, mentoring estimators and supporting business development while ensuring profitable work for the company.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience, including concrete estimating.
• Strong structural concrete estimating experience on projects valued at multiple millions.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume bidding schedules while maintaining accuracy.

Job description

Position Title: Senior Estimator

A well-established concrete subcontractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for structural and civil concrete projects throughout Oregon. This role will oversee competitive bids, evaluate project costs, review estimates for accuracy, and collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies and business development opportunities. Working across a high volume of projects ranging from smaller commercial jobs to multimillion-dollar developments, this individual will play a critical role in securing profitable work and supporting continued company growth.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of construction estimating experience, including at least 4-5 years specializing in concrete, with a strong background in structural concrete projects. This individual is analytical, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and confident in client-facing interactions, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, mentor fellow estimators, and contribute to strategic bidding decisions.

Salary Range: $145,000 - $200,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and bidding efforts for structural and civil concrete projects throughout Oregon
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for projects valued up to $10M or more, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Review estimates prepared by other team members, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy before bid submissions
• Partner with senior leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies, evaluate profit margins, and prioritize high-value opportunities
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict general contractor deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field superintendents to evaluate productivity, project requirements, and estimating assumptions
• Build relationships with general contractors, participate in client meetings, and support business development efforts to secure new projects

Requirements

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience, including at least 4-5 years specializing in concrete estimating
• Strong structural concrete estimating experience, including projects valued at $5M or more
• Proven ability to manage high-volume bidding schedules while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines
• Proficiency with OnScreen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel, and other digital estimating tools
• Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, labor productivity, material costs, and competitive bidding strategies
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage professionally with clients
• Experience with site/civil concrete, place-and-finish work, QuickBid, or Vista Viewpoint is preferred
