Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to lead estimates for data center construction projects. You will drive from initial enquiry through tender, perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing, and develop estimates across conceptual to construction document stages.

You will manage subcontractor and supplier pricing, assess bids for competitiveness, and identify value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Experience with hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of construction costs, procurement and bidding strategies.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field, or equivalent experience.

The Role:

• Lead and manage estimates for a range of commercial construction projects
• Prepare accurate estimates and supporting information from initial enquiry through to tender
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs, pricing and bid analysis
• Develop estimates across conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document stages
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and pricing
• Assess bids and ensure competitive and accurate pricing

About You:

• 3+ years7 experience estimating commercial construction projects
• Strong experience across hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction systems and disciplines, including mechanical and electrical
• Experience with self-performed concrete construction
• Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement and bidding strategies
• Experience estimating across all stages of design
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Confident working with clients, Architects, Owners and project teams
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver accurate work under pressure
• Experience with modern estimating and construction software
• Degree in Engineering, Construction or a related field, or equivalent experience
