Nautilus Homes in Sarasota, FL is seeking an experienced estimator to join our award-winning team. You will translate designs into accurate budgets, bid packages, and procurement plans while collaborating with project managers, architects, and trade partners.

Experience in luxury custom homes, strong reading of drawings, Procore and Excel proficiency, and excellent organization are essential. If you’re passionate about high-quality waterfront homes, we’d love to hear from you.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or project management experience.
• Luxury custom homes or high-end residential construction preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and estimating practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Experience managing subcontractor bidding and procurement.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual budgets, design-phase estimates, and final control estimates.
• Review construction drawings and specifications for scope, constructability, and pricing opportunities.
• Develop baseline project schedules to support estimating and planning.
• Prepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Analyze and level subcontractor proposals while preparing award recommendations.
• Support Project Managers through procurement, buyout, and subcontract preparation.
• Price change orders and provide estimating support throughout construction.
• Maintain historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the region.

What You'll Do

Your Responsibilities Include

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or project management experience


• Experience in luxury custom homes or high-end residential construction preferred


• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and estimating practices


• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents


• Experience managing subcontractor bidding and procurement


• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software


• Working knowledge of Florida residential construction and permitting requirements


• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
