Job summary

C.A.C. Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Long Island City, Queens, NY. You will partner with the Chief Estimator to develop competitive heavy civil bids, perform quantity takeoffs, and maintain cost data while coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

The role emphasizes proposal submissions, schedule management, and adherence to high standards of integrity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience and 7+ years in construction overall
• Strong understanding of contracts, bid processes, and insurance requirements
• Experience bidding with NYC agencies and within the tri-state market
• Design-build experience is a plus
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting heavy civil drawings and specifications
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with HCSS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and/or B2W preferred
• Familiarity with subcontractor scopes and vendor coordination
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
• Ability to perform under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate bid pricing for heavy civil projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to fully understand project scope and requirements
• Build, maintain, and update labor, material, and equipment cost data (HCSS)
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor quotations
• Develop pricing for bids, alternates, and change orders
• Review estimates for constructability, risk, and value-engineering opportunities
• Support and lead proposal submissions, including design-build pursuits
• Develop and manage bid schedules, ensuring all milestones are met
• Maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team full-time in Long Island City, Queens, NY. In this key role, you will partner closely with the Chief Estimator and collaborate across teams to support the development of competitive heavy civil bids and estimates.
