Job summary

Global Trust Recruitment is seeking an experienced estimator for underground transmission & distribution projects in a hybrid, full-time role. The position focuses on preparing competitive cost estimates, collaborating with design firms, and supporting bid analyses within a dynamic infrastructure team.

Qualified candidates bring 5+ years of estimating expertise, strong communication, and proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid, Accubid, and Quickpen.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in the underground transmission & distribution industry.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Accubid and Quickpen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for projects per company model and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project management staff and external design firms on design-build proposals.
• Manage take-offs, evaluations, and quantity surveys.
• Analyze bid documents to determine scope and prepare bids per owners' requirements.
• Prepare RFIs and suggest value engineering options.
• Work with project teams through lifecycle including pre-construction and change orders.
• Mentor junior estimators in the department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in the underground transmission & distribution industry
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software systems (HCSS Heavy Bid, Accubid, Quickpen, etc.)
• Strong understanding of the greater New York & New England construction market
• Able to work independently or with a team to complete estimates or proposals efficiently while meeting deadlines
• Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic
• Pay: $150K-220K based on experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for projects as per company business model and industry standards
• Collaborate with project management staff and external design firms on design-build proposalsManage, oversee, or perform take-offs, evaluations, and quantity surveys
• Participate and contribute to meetings with estimating staff and operations teams
• Analyze bid documents to determine the scope of work and prepare the bid in compliance with Owners' requirements
• Prepare all Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Suggest value engineering options and costs
• Work with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction functions and change orders
• Mentor junior members of the estimating department
