Job summary

Trueline is seeking an Estimating Manager in New Jersey to lead a team of construction estimators across locations, oversee bid packages, and implement best practices. This senior role focuses on pricing strategy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and executive leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in construction estimating, proven leadership of estimator teams, and experience with DOT or heavy civil projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience
• Experience leading estimators or estimating teams
• Experience estimating transportation, infrastructure, public works, DOT, or heavy civil projects
• Strong understanding of competitive bidding, public procurement, and bid preparation processes
• Experience implementing or improving estimating procedures and workflows
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators across multiple operating locations
• Oversee project estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and proposal submissions
• Establish and maintain estimating standards, processes, and best practices
• Review bids for accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with public agency requirements
• Partner with operations, project management, procurement, and executive leadership
• Track estimating performance, bid results, margins, and KPIs
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating workflows, systems, and reporting
• Support integration efforts during acquisitions and growth
• Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and scalability across the region
• Serve as subject matter expert on pricing strategy and risk evaluation
