Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an experienced ESH professional to implement corporate, field, and office safety policies across projects in Ohio. You will manage safety programs, conduct audits, and guide teams toward injury prevention.

You will review regulatory requirements, lead incident reviews, and coordinate with government agencies to uphold OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA standards. Strong communication and coaching skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of ESH experience required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA regulations.
• Accreditations preferred: CHST, ASP, CSP, ICRA.
• CCIP experience preferred.
• Basic Spanish language communication preferred.
• Industrial hygiene knowledge and best practices.
• Skilled communicator—verbal and written presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety programs and upholding Layton Way for internal teams and partners.
• Manage safety programs on all assigned projects, including CCIP.
• Provide regulatory review, interpretation, and technical guidance.
• Review audits, observations, and injury stats to propose structured safety programs.
• Share data with leadership to develop safety trends.
• Monitor new legislation affecting safety policies and propose updates.
• Oversee incident reviews and safety training to ensure OSHA/MSHA compliance.
• Develop and oversee project-specific safety programs and training.
• Interface with site supervision, subcontractors, and agencies (OSHA, EPA, MSHA).
