Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior ESH Manager to implement corporate, field and office safety policies across projects. You will lead safety programs, audits, and data sharing with senior safety leadership to drive trends and improvements.

Required: Bachelor’s in Environmental Safety & Health, 7+ years ESH, strong OSHA/MSHA knowledge, and certifications (CHST/ASP/CSP/ICRA). Proficient in MS Office; basic Spanish helpful; exceptional communicator and coach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of ESH experience required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA regulations.
• Accreditations preferred: CHST, ASP, CSP, ICRA.
• Previous CCIP experience preferred.
• Basic Spanish language communication preferred.
• Industrial hygiene knowledge and best practices.
• Skilled communicator—verbal and written presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with diverse teams and develop team members through coaching and delegation.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety programs and deliver predictable outcomes for teams and partners.
• Manage safety programs on all assigned projects and coordinate audits.
• Provide regulatory review, interpretation, and technical guidance.
• Recommend improvements and conduct technical reviews of ESH tools and policies.
• Review audits, observations, and injury statistics to identify risks and propose programs.
• Interface with site leadership and government agencies (OSHA, EPA, MSHA).
• Develop, implement, and oversee project-specific safety programs.
• Monitor workers’ compensation issues and conduct incident reviews.
• Ensure accurate accident reporting and preventive measures.
• Support injury management and cost control.
